Heather Leschied
You could say Heather comes by her love of water naturally. When she was a toddler, her mom would tuck her into her waders and take her fishing in the streams around Lake Huron. Now Wildsight's Water Stewardship Program Manager, Heather continues to be fascinated by the power of water on landscapes and hearts.
Having managed the now complete, Lake Windermere Project, Heather has chaired the multi-stakeholder East Kootenay Integrated Lake Management Partnership, which lead to the precedent setting Shoreline Management Guidelines for the most heavily developed lake in southeastern British Columbia.
Heather is an active participant in water stewardship efforts in the Columbia River Basin, she volunteers for the Columbia Basin Watershed Network Steering Committee and Lake Windermere Ambassadors Board of Directors.
Heather received an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies/Geography degree and Certificate in Environmental Resource Management from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior.
