Wildsight Golden is seeking a Responsible Recreation Pilot Project Coordinator

Job Description

This is a contract position.  Duties will include documenting  damage by recreational activities to riparian and alpine ecosystems in selected high profile areas in the Golden area. Engage recreationalists, user groups and youth to develop an education strategy that will be piloted during the summer and fall. This will include informal education and consultation with recreationalists,   developing an interactive presentation to take to community groups and high school classes, and information display for public spaces.

Project timeline


June:
Collect  available education materials from various organizations.  Distribute to public and retail outlets. Liaison with government and other interest groups.  Visit low elevation sites to document  status/damage and engage users in conversations.  Write some educational articles for media.
                                                              
July-August: Visit high elevation sites  to document status/damage and engage users in conversations.  Develop education  materials for display. Prepare presentations for community groups and schools.  Report to media.

September-November:
Present to community groups and  Golden Secondary. Continue to visit sites and users. Evaluate efforts and develop strategy for next year.

Project budget is $4500, which includes professional fees of $2700 for a minimum of 182 hours.
