What's up during Earth Day in Cranbrook?
Music, food, booths, fun: don’t miss it on April 22 at Rotary Park Spirit Square
Cranbrook, B.C. — It’s spring again, and with spring comes Earth Day. Wildsight will host its second annual community celebration to mark the occasion on Thursday, April 22, between five and eight pm at Rotary Park Spirit Square in downtown Cranbrook.
“There’ll be music, vendors, booths, face painting, food—it’s going to be another great evening in the park,” said Robyn Duncan, program coordinator with Wildsight.
Earth Day Cranbrook 2010 will feature live music from KAMP (Kootenay Association of Musical Performers), including Van Redecopp, Two for the Show, Dave Prinn, Joel Purdy and the Evergreens, and Mark Rosini. There will be several local vendors and info booths and kids’ activities on site, along with hot beverages and cookies.
“We want to thank everyone who’s donating their time, services or products,” Duncan said, “including PB Pro Audio, which is donating sound equipment, time and expertise, and Max’s Place, which is donating hot beverages and treats.”
Duncan said this Earth Day will be an event to remember. “The East Kootenay is home to staggering and diverse wildlife populations; pristine wilderness areas; amazing water resources and great people—let’s celebrate that and appreciate the power we have to take care of it,” she said.
