Wildsight Golden Branch works on local recycling, air quality, back country recreation, and land management issues. We provide environmental education programs to school children, maintain a wildlife viewing area at Reflection Lake and sponsor public presentations on environmental issues in our community. Regular planning meetings of Wildsight Golden Branch are scheduled for 7:00pm at the library of Lady Grey Elementary School in September, November, February and May. Our AGM is held in March.

For the 08-09 season we are working on a anti-idling campaign, a pesticide use reduction initiative, an invasive species project, CABIN training and water quality monitoring on the Kickinghorse River, educational presentations in the schools, improving recycling services and  networking with  the local branch of the Council of Canadians and  Kickinghorse Culture on several initiatives. We are also working with other backcountry users to implement a recreational access plan for the Golden half of the Columbia Forest District.

There are plenty of projects and ideas for people to work on and we welcome new members. Contact Branch President Joan Dolinsky at 250 348-2578 or jdolinsky@uniserve.com for more information.
