Sinclair Creek Native Plant Restoration

Sep 10 2011 09:00

Calling all riparian restoration enthusiasts! We need your help.

Please join us for a fun-filled day of restoration activities on the locally significant Sinclair Creek. Wildsight is asking all citizens, businesses and local organizations to join us in our efforts to remove an invasive plant (Common Tansy) that is taking over the native plant ecology of Radium's Sinclair Creek and its trail system. We are also going to be planting several species of native plants in the riparian areas where we remove the invading Tansy. We hope that you can come out and help us with the plantings and the invasive plant removal efforts!

When: Saturday, September 10th
Time: 9am
Location: We will meet at the Sinclair Creek trailhead. From Radium, head west down Forsters Landing Rd. Just before the mill, turn right on a dirt road where you will see signs that lead you to the Sinclair Creek trail.

Lunch and drinks will be sponsored by the East Kootenay Conservation Program and the Regional District East Kootenay. Weed removal from site provided by the Village of Radium.

Bring a shovel and some gardening gloves if you can.

See you there!
