Free Lawn and Garden Workshops
Date - Tuesday, April 19
Location - Kicking Horse River Lodge, Golden
Join us for one of two FREE workshops with guest speaker Paul Tukey, organic lawn and garden care expert and author of the best selling Organic Lawn Care Manual.
Workshop 1 - 10:30 - 12:00 pm.
This workshop will be focused on providing information to turn and lawn and garden stakeholders about effective ways to make the pesticide-free transition with their business, or in their line of work.
Workshop 2 - 1:00 - 2:30pm.
This workshop, geared to the general public, will focus on how to have a healthy and chemical free lawn and garden.
Topics will be influenced by audience questions but will include weed management, new safe products, selection of turf grasses, watering, building your soil, mulching and composting.
*Admission for workshops is by donation to help cover event costs

Film Screening
Later, at the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce, Paul's film, A Chemical Reaction, which tells the story of a powerful community initiative that eventually resulted in Canada’s first by-law to ban the use of all chemical pesticides and herbicides, will be screened.
