Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan Community Engagement Session: Fernie
On January 29th, 2009, a community engagement event will be held seeking community input and ideas on strategies that local residents can take to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This event is part of the development of a community and municipal GHG Emission Reduction Plan. The City of Fernie joined an initiative called Partners for Climate Protection, which guides the process of measuring emissions, setting emission reduction targets, and developing a plan to reduce emissions. As part of the community emission reduction plan, it is important to involve as many residents from varying backgrounds so that recommendations in the plan will represent the needs of all citizens.
We invite you to join us on January 29th, 2009 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm to share your thoughts and ideas about reducing emissions. Dinner will be provided at this event. Information about climate change in Fernie, as well as results from the community greenhouse gas inventory will be presented. There will be plenty of opportunity for input, and we encourage your group to participate in this event.
Again, the event will occur from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on January 29th, 2009 in Room 120 at The College of the Rockies. Please RSVP with the number of representatives from your group by January 22nd, 2009 at ghgreduction@fernie.com. We look forward to your participation.
Warm Regards,
